BOARD OF DIRECTORS
RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Attend monthly Board of Directors luncheon meetings, generally held the 3rd Friday of the month.

2. Serve on one standing Board Committee:
• Annual Awards Dinner
• Educator Grant
• Golf Tournament
• Scholarship

3. Actively support the advancement and progress of Harrisonburg City Public Schools.

4. Actively support the financial success of the Foundation’s endeavors each year at an appropriate level.

5. Serve as an ambassador to the community at large for the Harrisonburg City Public School system.

6. Know and understand the mission and philosophy of the organization.

7. Be prepared for the meetings by reviewing materials and information provided in advance.

8. Provide advice, counsel, and other support to HEF by offering resources within area of expertise or through place of business.

9. Consider serving as an officer or in another leadership position if requested.
